About the abandoned School
The Kopachi Village Kindergarten is located roughly two and a half miles from Chernobyl Power Plant. Built in 1967, it is the only building still standing in the village that once had 1200 residents. After the nuclear disaster in 1986, the village was abandoned and mostly all the buildings were demolished and buried due to high levels of contamination.
